Description
What kind of wine is it
BRDA MalvaL by Movia is an organic macerated white wine from the Brda region that expresses the authentic character of Malvasia. In the glass, it reveals a dense and enveloping texture, enriched by a subtle tannic structure. The aromatic profile releases notes of yellow apple, mango, pineapple and citrus fruits, intertwined with hints of almond blossom, white pepper and a delicate touch of honey. On the palate, it displays a medium-full body, well balanced by lively acidity and a pronounced minerality that leads the sip towards a persistent finish, characterised by elegant hints of marzipan and orange zest.
Where does it come from
This wine is made from grapes grown in the Vinia Dol vineyard, located in the village of Fojana, within the Slovenian territory of Brda. The Malvasia vines, trained using the Guyot system, ensure low yields per hectare, promoting a high aromatic concentration in the bunches. The roots delve into a unique terroir, composed of ponca and clay with dense layers of marl and sandstone. This complex geological matrix is essential for imparting a strong mineral imprint to the wine, offering a profound and faithful interpretation of the characteristics of this wine-growing area.
How is it produced
The production process begins with a late harvest, followed by gentle destemming and crushing. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and is initiated exclusively by indigenous yeasts. A key stage is the thirty-day skin maceration, which gives the wine structure and its typical flavour profile. After racking, maturation continues for eight months between stainless steel and wooden barrels, an essential period for integrating the fruity expressiveness and achieving full harmony before the release of this limited production.
