Description
What kind of wine is it
Mandois Blanc de Noirs Champagne is a rich Brut, made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. Crafted using the Traditional Method, this Champagne displays a golden hue with amber highlights, hinting at a complex bouquet. On the nose, there are notes of cherry in spirit, stone fruits and subtle hints of vanilla. The palate is structured, developing peppery and spicy notes of candied fruit that enhance the varietal character and ensure significant ageing potential over time.
Where does it come from
This wine originates from Pierry, a French village that has been home to the Mandois winery since 1735. Production is based on grapes grown in renowned parcels classified as Premier Cru, located between the Côte de Bar and Côte d’Epernay regions. These vineyards maximise the local expression, giving the Champagne a strong identity. The rigorous selection of the fruit guarantees a high-quality base, ideal for shaping a structured and full-bodied style, perfect for complex food pairings, from shellfish dishes to cheeses and poultry.
How is it produced
The process begins with vines averaging thirty years of age, managed according to strict organic guidelines. After harvesting, vinification and secondary fermentation in the bottle are carried out strictly according to the principles of the Traditional Method. The extended ageing on the lees gives the Champagne a remarkable sense of fullness and an enveloping texture. The Brut dosage ultimately defines a dry and harmonious sip, combining the aromatic intensity of the fruit with a persistent finish, delivering an experience of great gustatory balance.
