Description

What kind of wine it is

Maison du Vigneron Crémant du Jura Brut, produced using the Traditional Method, is created from a meticulous blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In the glass, it displays a fine and persistent perlage, which precedes an aromatic profile defined by delicate hints of white flowers and sweet pastry notes. On the palate, it is dry, creamy and well-balanced, characterised by lively freshness that leads to a long, citrusy and floral finish. Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with oysters and shellfish, fish, cheese and vegetarian dishes.

Where it comes from

This sparkling wine originates from the Jura region in France. The Maison du Vigneron vineyards in Lavigny, Château-Chalon and Passenans grow on soils with a clay and limestone composition, enriched by blue marl. These geological elements give the wine a distinctly clean flavour profile, ensuring a dense texture that is always well supported by lively acidity. The identity of this area is reflected in a rigorous production style that favours a refined balance between creaminess and freshness, delivering an authentic profile closely linked to the unique characteristics of its terroir.

How it is produced

The production process faithfully follows the principles of the Traditional Method, beginning with whole-bunch pneumatic pressing and subsequent clarification of the must at low temperatures. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the original fragrance of the varietal aromas. The base wine then matures on the lees for eight months, preparing for the secondary fermentation in the bottle. This is followed by a prolonged 18-month ageing period, an essential phase that enriches the wine’s texture and encourages the development of a delicate mousse. The final result is a Brut with a dry profile, offering a satisfying and structured drinking experience.

History and Curiosities

Born from the union of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grown on clay and limestone soils, the Crémant du Jura Brut from Maison du Vigneron embodies authentic French tradition. This meticulous care imparts a lively freshness and a fine, persistent mousse, releasing floral aromas intertwined with sweet pastry notes.
