Description
What kind of wine it is
Dosaggio Zero Riserva by Letrari is a sparkling wine crafted using the Traditional Method, created from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It displays a brilliant golden colour and an extremely fine perlage. The bouquet combines aromas of bread crust and light vanilla nuances with hints of apple and dried fruit. On the palate, the solid structure enhances the flavour of ripe apple, accompanied by a fresh undertone of citrus and hazelnut, ensuring a long and clean finish.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates in Trentino, between Borghetto all’Adige and Nogaredo, in Vallagarina. The typical poor, rocky soils, together with optimal exposures, ensure low yields and balanced ripening of the grapes. The local microclimate benefits from the influence of the River Adige and Lake Garda. This Mediterranean character gives the wine from the Trento denomination a precious freshness and minerality, defining a clear and recognisable identity profile.
How it is produced
Production strictly follows the stages of the Traditional Method, beginning with the manual harvesting of the grapes. After gentle pressing, the first fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The prise de mousse occurs through a second fermentation in the bottle, followed by over fifty months of ageing on the lees to develop adequate aromatic complexity. The process concludes with disgorgement without the addition of sugars, resulting in an authentic and rigorous pas dosé.
History and Curiosities
Born in the prestigious vineyards of Vallagarina, this exceptional Riserva Dosaggio Zero embodies the artistry of the Letrari winery, founded in 1976. The 2017 vintage is a true rarity, distinguished by its over 50 months spent on the lees, a lengthy maturation that enhances its enveloping notes of bread crust, ripe apple and hazelnut. Crafted strictly according to the traditional method, it is disgorged without added sugars to preserve its vibrant purity. A masterpiece with an extremely fine perlage, capable of evolving magnificently in the cellar for up to ten years.
