Description
What kind of wine it is
The Sauvignon Friuli Colli Orientali from Le Vigne di Zamò is an organic white wine that originates in the heart of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Produced exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc grapes and aged in steel tanks, it presents a bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it offers clear notes of gooseberry, pink grapefruit and honeysuckle, enriched by hints of mint, mallow, cassis leaf and a delicate note of peach skin. On the palate, it is fresh and savoury, with a vibrant gustatory energy balanced by a pleasant smoothness and a dry taste that ends with a long and harmonious finish.
Where it comes from
The vineyards are located in the Friuli Colli Orientali area, between the famous municipalities of Manzano, Rosazzo and Buttrio. The rows extend over well-exposed and airy slopes, where the stony and mineral soils guarantee the grapes finesse and a distinct tension. The Le Vigne di Zamò winery manages the vineyard following the principles of agricultural sustainability, operating with full respect for the ecosystem. This approach allows for the best enhancement of the Friulian territorial vocation, bringing fruit of excellent quality to the cellar.
How it is produced
Production begins with the manual harvesting of the bunches, which are destemmed and subjected to a static cold maceration overnight, a fundamental technique for extracting the maximum aromatic potential. This is followed by soft pressing in the absence of oxygen and fermentation at a controlled temperature. Ageing on the lees, carried out in steel tanks for eight months, gives the wine structure and roundness.

The company is fortunate to draw from three different terroirs that give the wines different and unique characters and personalities. The Zamò family has been cultivating the land for centuries: first the grandfather, then the father and finally the sons, all united under the same goal: cultivating the land and making wine as a sign of civilisation and respect for their origins and traditions,
In addition to great white wines, including Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, the company focuses on red wines to maintain the indigenous grape varieties and to pursue new projects and innovations. For years, the Zamò family has been conducting cultivation with sustainability-conscious methods, and in 2021 they obtained the first Certified Organic grape harvest. Read more
