Description
What kind of wine it is
Franciacorta Audens Dosaggio Zero is a rigorous expression signed by Le Marchesine. It is created from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, crafted according to the Traditional Method to fully enhance its character. With a pale straw-yellow colour and lively bubbles, the nose offers spicy notes, smoky nuances, citrus peel, plum and gooseberry. It reveals elegant vegetal hints of vine leaf, elderflower, dill and wild fennel. On the palate, it is direct, clean and refreshing, driven by a vibrant acid-saline tension that gives juiciness and leads the sip towards a long, mineral finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the renowned hills of Passirano, in the heart of Franciacorta. The vineyards are managed with Guyot training, maintaining an ideal planting density to ensure the highest quality of the bunches. Careful agronomy results in controlled yields and a strict manual harvest, an essential measure to preserve the integrity of the fruit until it reaches the winery. This approach allows Le Marchesine to obtain an excellent base for a zero dosage sparkling wine that faithfully reflects the identity and vocation of the region.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with the gentle pressing of whole bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and is followed by rapid cooling to prevent malolactic fermentation, thus preserving the original freshness. Afterwards, as required by the Traditional Method, the slow prise de mousse requires a minimum ageing of 24 months in contact with the lees. Franciacorta Audens Dosaggio Zero excels at the table: its natural versatility perfectly enhances spicy and aromatic dishes, elevating raw fish such as sushi and sashimi, flavourful first courses and delicate herb-infused white meats.
History and Curiosities
The Audens Dosaggio Zero from Le Marchesine celebrates a fascinating tradition of Franciacorta that dates back to 1985. The result of a rigorous manual harvest of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc grapes, it is crafted according to the traditional method to express the utmost purity. The slow maturation in the bottle ensures a minimum ageing of 24 months, shaping a DOCG sparkling wine with an exquisitely dry, direct and mineral profile. This meticulous process gives the glass a vibrant tension and a rare elegance.
