Description

What type of wine it is

Passerina Versante Ovest by Lanciani is an organic white wine made from Passerina grapes under the Offida Passerina designation, an authentic expression of the Marche region. It appears in the glass with an intense straw-yellow colour enhanced by golden highlights. The olfactory profile is broad and refined, characterised by delicate floral and fruity notes that blend with a marked mineral footprint. Fermented in concrete vats, it offers a fresh and harmonious sip on the palate, with a lean and precise taste progression. Its distinct minerality makes it ideal for pairing with fish dishes, raw seafood and white meats.

Where it comes from

Production is rooted in the Marche municipality of Montefiore dell’Aso, within the Offida Passerina designation. The vineyards are located on clay soils at four hundred and fifty metres above sea level, conditions that define the vibrant character of the fruit. The vines, cultivated using the Guyot training system and with an average age of twenty-five years, benefit from a perfect hilly context to guarantee an optimal balance between aromatic ripening and the preservation of the variety's natural acidity.

How it is produced

Processing begins with the manual harvest, carried out in mid-September to select only the best bunches. In the cellar, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature within glass-lined concrete vats. This choice ensures constant evolution and fully respects the aromatic identity of the Passerina grape variety. Finally, the wine undergoes six months of ageing which stabilises its structure, providing a dynamic taste profile while keeping the original vivacity of the fruit intact.

The freshness and distinct minerality of this Passerina enhance the flavours of the sea, elegantly accompanying baked sea bass or seafood risotto. It is exceptional when paired with crudités and sushi, where the delicate fruity notes find a perfect balance, as well as with white meats such as grilled chicken or roast turkey.
