Description
What kind of wine it is
Istine Rosato Toscano is a still organic wine made from Sangiovese grapes, an authentic expression of the Tuscan region. In the glass, it displays a pale pink colour with subtle coppery highlights. The aromatic profile is fragrant, characterised by notes of small red fruits, rose water, orange zest and hibiscus infusion. On the palate, it reveals a light body, a pleasant freshness and an extremely smooth drinkability. Served chilled, it makes a perfect aperitif or an ideal companion for light starters.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in the Cavarchione vineyard in Gaiole in Chianti, at an altitude of around 420 metres. The east and south-east exposure favours ripening that enhances acidity and drinkability. The soil, rich in stones with marl limestones and a clear prevalence of Galestro, imparts tension and clarity to the fruit. The Istine winery adopts certified organic farming and enhances the territory through the separate vinification of plots, highlighting the vocation and identity of each individual vineyard.
How it is produced
The process begins with an early manual harvest, essential for preserving natural acidity. The skin maceration is very brief, less than six hours, to extract only the most delicate colour nuances. The must ferments at a controlled temperature not exceeding 16°C. To maintain the aromatic integrity of the fruit, malolactic fermentation is not carried out. The process ends with maturation in steel, resulting in a wine with an agile and linear profile.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1982 and led by oenologist Angela Fronti, the Istine winery enhances the Tuscan territory through the separate vinification of its own plots. This fascinating organic rosé is produced from the grapes of the Cavarchione vineyard, in Gaiole in Chianti. To ensure lively freshness and excellent acidity, the manual harvest of the pure Sangiovese is skilfully brought forward. The result is an elegant and genuine wine, with a longevity of three to five years, which fully expresses the authentic passion of the Fronti family.

With the introduction of the second generation into the company, it is natural to start our own production in the bottle. The 2009 harvest and the first 3000 bottles of Chianti Classico concretely represent what has always been the great passion for wine, thus integrating and completing the family business.
The commitment for the future is to evolve and grow, while remaining faithful to the traditions and to our territory, trying to enhance as much as possible what nature is offering us and the viticultural peculiarities of the highest lands of the Chianti region.
We are certified organic since 2016. We believe in respect for nature, for the people working in the vineyard and for those who taste the wine in the glass. Read more
