Description
What kind of wine it is
Icardi Barolo Parej is a still red wine that faithfully embodies the expression of Nebbiolo. Its deep ruby colour with garnet highlights anticipates a complex bouquet of cherry, rose, tobacco, cinchona and vanilla. On the palate, it is full and velvety, with a juicy structure and a soft body. The typical Piedmontese tannins are well balanced, leading to a persistent finish with elegant spicy notes. It is recommended to decant for one hour before serving with roasts, game or mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This red originates between the Bassa Langa and Monferrato, specifically in Castiglione Tinella. The Icardi winery cultivates forty-year-old vines, which are essential for giving the grapes a high aromatic concentration. The agriculture follows the principles of organic and biodynamic viticulture, working in harmony with the ecosystem. This dedication enhances the natural qualities of Nebbiolo, defining a classic and structured profile true to Barolo, an authentic expression of a family-run estate.
How it is produced
The vinification aims to preserve the varietal characteristics of Nebbiolo, followed by a long maturation. The ageing of thirty-six months in French oak barrels rounds out the sip, enriching it with hints of fern and juniper. Resting in wood ensures balance, freshness and a fine complexity. This meticulous process guarantees an ageing potential of over twenty-five years, making it an excellent connoisseur's wine, ideal to let evolve over time to accompany rich and structured dishes.

Our farm is located in Castiglione Tinella, in the province of Cuneo, on the border between the lower Langa and the Monferrato. Here, the hills extend as far as the eye can see, making Castiglione Tinella one of the most wine-growing municipalities in Italy, with over 90% of the land cultivated as vineyards. The rocks that descend towards the Tinella and Belbo valleys frame the carefully combed rows of vines and the patches of woodland that interrupt the geometry of the vineyards, offering a unique setting.
