Description
What kind of wine it is
Starderi by Icardi is an organic red wine with a truly Piedmontese character. Made from Nebbiolo grapes, it displays a garnet colour with a ruby core. On the nose, it elegantly reveals aromas of wild berries, potpourri and subtle hints of tobacco. On the palate, it stands out for its juicy fruity flesh balanced with smooth tannins and a vibrant freshness. The long, savoury finish makes it the ideal pairing for meat dishes, game and cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Piedmont, in the renowned vineyards of the municipality of Neive. Here, the vines sink their roots into calcareous-clay marl soils, perfect for imparting structure and aromatic finesse. Barbaresco represents a deep connection with an outstanding terroir, which Icardi enhances by highlighting the unique local microclimatic features. The result is a sip with a defined personality and a complex texture.
How it is produced
Vinification follows the principles of organic farming to preserve the purity of the grape variety. The wine matures for twenty-four months in large barrels, a crucial period for refining the tannins and balancing the structure. This process ensures an extraordinary ageing potential, capable of evolving for over ten years. To appreciate every nuance, it is recommended to decant for one hour and serve at a temperature of eighteen to twenty degrees.

Our farm is located in Castiglione Tinella, in the province of Cuneo, on the border between the lower Langa and the Monferrato. Here, the hills extend as far as the eye can see, making Castiglione Tinella one of the most wine-growing municipalities in Italy, with over 90% of the land cultivated as vineyards. The rocks that descend towards the Tinella and Belbo valleys frame the carefully combed rows of vines and the patches of woodland that interrupt the geometry of the vineyards, offering a unique setting.
