Description
What kind of wine it is
Marie-Amélie Champagne by Henriet-Bazin is a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay grapes, able to faithfully express the essence of its own terroir. Produced according to the Traditional Method, it presents itself as a Brut Nature with a dry, fresh and vibrant profile. The prolonged ageing on the lees enriches the bouquet, making it complex, while maintaining a crisp palate and great structural elegance. It is the ideal choice to accompany fish and shellfish or to enhance refined starters.
Where it comes from
The vineyards selected for this cuvée are located in Villers-Marmery, a renowned Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims. The grapes come from vines over fifty years old, rooted in the historic Clos, Fosses and Alouettes plots. The mid-slope exposure ensures gradual ripening, essential for preserving the Chardonnay and its natural fragrance. The soils, composed of fine silts, rest on a deep layer of pure chalk in the form of gravel, a geological matrix that gives the wine a pronounced gustatory tension and a crystalline aromatic definition.
How it is produced
The production process begins by using exclusively the first pressing must. Fermentation and initial maturation take place in enamelled vats, where the wine rests for nine months to define its primary characteristics. The subsequent prise de mousse, carried out according to the Traditional Method, is followed by ageing on the lees for at least seven years in the bottle, the time needed to develop remarkable structural depth. The absence of dosage defines the rigorous Brut Nature style, enhancing technical purity and the purest expression of the fruit.

His son Robert Henriet took over in 1830 and kept ont working. Driven by the enthusiasm for Champagne de Vignerons, he developed his clientele through fairs in Paris, Lille and Lyon.
In 1962 Daniel Henriet, grandson of the founder, was 16 years old when he decided to take over and study wine before joining his brothers on the family estate. A few years later he met Mademoiselle Micheline Bazin, daughter of winegrowers from Villers-Marmery whom he married in 1968. The union of their two families gave birth to Champagne Henriet-Bazin … I would not arrive until a few years later.
After spending my childhood in my father’s boots, I joined the house in 1991 and decided to keep all of my harvest for vinification.
Respect for nature, the land, the vines, our wines and our customers Respect is knowing how to listen. And for over 15 years now, we have been listening to the whispers of nature and have come to understand it better. Abandonment of weedkillers, respect for insects, grassing of our vines, sowing of plants to replace fertilizers, work in harmony with the lunar cycles … Read more
