Description
What kind of wine it is
Haras de Pirque Albis is an organic Chilean red wine, born from a harmonious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. Characterised by an intense red colour, it reveals a complex aromatic profile with notes of ripe red fruits, herbal hints, mint, spices and chocolate. On the palate, it is fresh and mineral, enveloped by elegant velvety tannins that provide a soft and persistent structure. Thanks to its balanced body and long finish, it is ideal for pairing with roasted meats, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This red comes to life in Pirque, in the renowned Alto Maipo Valley, Chile. The authentic expression of the Maipo area is rooted in clay and marl soils, which impart a distinct minerality and a solid tannic framework to the wine. The winemaking project was born from the collaboration between Haras de Pirque and Marchesi Antinori, aimed at enhancing the fruits of the Maipo Andes Valley. The adoption of organic practices in the vineyard ensures pristine grapes, carefully preserving their authentic territorial character.
How it is produced
Production begins with a careful selection of the bunches and a cold maceration for several days, designed to delicately extract the aromatic precursors. The subsequent alcoholic fermentation takes place in French oak vats. After blending the varieties, the wine rests for eighteen months in French oak barrels to enrich its complexity and harmony. This meticulous ageing process shapes the structure of the wine, resulting in a dense and profound sip, with remarkable ageing potential.
History and Curiosities
Born from the collaboration between Haras de Pirque and Marchesi Antinori, Albis 2020 is a prestigious Chilean organic red wine that expresses the soul of the Upper Maipo Valley. This refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère matures for eighteen months in French oak barriques, developing complex aromas of mint and chocolate. Highly acclaimed by critics, it boasts an impressive 94 points from James Suckling. On the palate, it offers an intensely fresh and mineral sip, enveloped by velvety tannins. An elegant and structured experience, ideal for your special occasions.

The collaboration between Haras de Pirque, a producer of excellence in the area, and Marchesi Antinori stems from the desire to 'explore' the potential of Chile. The wine that has become a symbol of the union between the two wine producers is Albis, the fruit of an international grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere, the Chilean grape par excellence.
Furthermore, the conviction that the Andean wine-growing area of Chile represents a natural habitat for Sauvignon led Marchesi Antinori to start a specific project to produce this extraordinary variety, resulting in the Albaclara wine. Read more
