Description
What kind of wine it is
Giorgi Spumante Metodo Classico Top Zero Nature is an elegant Metodo Classico that expresses the pure character of Pinot Noir. Visually, it displays a straw yellow colour with golden highlights, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. The aromatic bouquet is complex, defined by notes of white flowers and light hints of vanilla. On the palate, it confirms the dry nature of the Dosaggio Zero style, revealing a savoury sip, with excellent structure and measured balance.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine is crafted in Canneto Pavese, in the renowned terroir of the Oltrepò Pavese. The Giorgi winery manages its own vineyards in a Lombardy area highly suited to sparkling wine production. The Pinot Noir grapes are carefully selected and the late August harvest allows the acidic freshness of the bunches to be preserved. Low yields per hectare favour a pronounced territorial identity, resulting in a wine with marked tension and mineral precision.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with a blend of the estate's best base wines. The primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with a small portion of the must fermenting in French oak barrels to add complexity. Following the principles of the Metodo Classico, after the spring bottling, the wine undergoes a slow 80-month maturation on the lees, developing great structural richness. During disgorgement, the topping up is strictly done with the same wine, a technical choice that enhances the purity of a completely dry finish.
History and Curiosities
This sparkling wine, Metodo Classico Dosaggio Zero, originates in Oltrepò Pavese from the historic Giorgi winery, which has been active since 1870. A pure expression of Pinot Nero, it is created by blending the finest vintages and perfected through a lengthy maturation in the bottle of at least eighty months. At the time of disgorgement, the topping up is carried out strictly with the same wine to enhance its absolute purity and dry character. The excellence of this noble sparkling wine is attested by prestigious awards, such as the Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso and the Cinque Grappoli from Bibenda.

The Giorgi family has always firmly focused on the entire production chain: from the grape to the bottle, laying the foundations from the beginning to realise their grand project of creating a significant wine company. This project became a reality as early as 1970, when the brothers, Gianfranco and Antonio, built a second winery, modern and technologically very advanced, in Canneto Pavese.
With the construction of the third winery in Camponoce, Giorgi finally achieved national consecration in the 1980s, with a sales network of 80 representatives and a presence in the best restaurants and wine shops nationwide.
Today Giorgi Vini exports to 59 countries worldwide, has more than 160 agents in Italy, and has won the most important international and national awards (Three Glasses by Gambero Rosso and Five Bunches sommelier). In addition, Giorgi proudly represents Oltrepò Pavese in Italy and the world. Read more
