Description
What kind of wine it is
Freccianera Satèn is a sparkling wine of great finesse, a true expression of the Traditional Method. Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, it displays a bright straw yellow colour, enhanced by a creamy mousse and a fine, persistent perlage. On the palate, the enveloping softness characteristic of the Satèn style blends with vibrant freshness and a pleasant savouriness. The sip is silky and structured, finishing with a persistent finale featuring elegant hints of spice and toasted almond.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in Borgonato di Corte Franca, in the heart of Franciacorta, a region renowned for the production of excellent sparkling wines. The Fratelli Berlucchi winery manages its own vineyards, making the most of the unique microclimate of this Brescia area. This connection with the land is evident in a glass with a fine texture and a clear aromatic profile. Thanks to these particular environmental conditions, Chardonnay develops a balanced structure, able to preserve freshness and offer excellent persistence on the palate.
How it is produced
The process follows the strict steps of the Traditional Method, involving secondary fermentation in the bottle and a long maturation on the lees for over forty months. This maturation period gives a complex bouquet, characterised by notes of sponge cake, white melon, peach, candied citrus fruits and Golden apple. Thanks to its velvety texture, it makes a refined aperitif, but it also pairs naturally and elegantly with fish starters, shellfish, and a flavoursome seafood risotto.
History and Curiosities
Born in Borgonato di Corte Franca from the expertise of the Fratelli Berlucchi winery, the Freccianera Satèn Millesimato represents a true oenological rarity. This exclusive Franciacorta is aged for over 40 months on the lees, developing an extremely fine perlage and a silky softness that gently envelops the palate. The iconic label, inspired by the renowned designer Franco Maria Ricci, reflects the great allure of this pure Chardonnay cuvée. A masterpiece from the 2021 vintage that expresses all the excellence of the authentic Franciacorta Method.

From the love between Francesco and Giustina, Ignazio, the first-born son, and Antonio Berlucchi, the second-born son, were born. On the death of his father Francesco, the eldest son Ignazio inherited the historical palace of the Lana-Berlucchi family, while the second-born Antonio inherited the Casa delle Colonne and a set of agricultural plots particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. Antonio founded the farm in 1927, which he then left to his five children, siblings Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata Berlucchi.
In 1977, the siblings began to produce Franciacorta, initiating the historic and current collaboration with oenologist Cesare Ferrari; on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of production, the Freccianera millesimati line was born: Millesimo 2007, a limited series of 3,000 bottles destined to be released on the market after 6 years of ageing on the lees.
The arrow shot from the medieval past that the family's palaces and vineyards recount, arrives today, with the unchanged black colour, from the first label of 1977. Read more
