Description
What kind of wine is it
Champagne Origin Elle Extra Brut by Françoise Bedel is an Extra Brut sparkling wine with a biodynamic character. The result of a carefully crafted blend of Pinot Meunier, combined with the elegance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it is produced according to the strict Traditional Method. On the nose, it reveals fresh citrus notes that precede a clean and fruity palate, supported by a pronounced minerality that offers a pure and sincere expression of its place of origin.
Where does it come from
This wine originates from the renowned Champagne region, in an area defined by a varied patchwork of soils. The vine roots delve into clay and marl soils, interwoven with silty and calcareous matrices that impart a distinct saline character. The skilful blend of different plots enhances the fruit's unique qualities, resulting in a clearly mineral profile. The distinctive nature of Pinot Meunier finds perfect balance and tension thanks to the contribution of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, reinforcing a strong connection with the terroir.
How is it produced
The creation of the cuvée follows the principles of the Traditional Method, maintaining a consistent approach with strict biodynamic practices. After the prise de mousse, the Champagne rests for four years of ageing on the lees, an essential stage to provide structural roundness and preserve aromatic fullness. This slow maturation allows for maximum integration between fruity notes and freshness. It pairs beautifully with flavourful cheeses, shellfish dishes, or a refined combination of salmon and caviar.
