Description
What kind of wine it is
Surfiner Cuvee Brut is a quality sparkling wine by Foss Marai. It is created from a careful blend of grapes, combining the liveliness of Glera with the structure provided by Chardonnay and the aromatic character of Sauvignon Blanc. With a straw yellow colour, it opens with a clear bouquet of yellow fruit and wildflowers, enhanced by a distinctive vegetal note reminiscent of pepper. On the palate, it offers a full and harmonious sip, ideal for accompanying starters, fish dishes, structured first courses and flavourful cheeses.
Where it comes from
Founded in 1984, the company pays close attention to sustainability and meticulous research into local yeasts to best enhance the grapes. The result is a glass with a defined and balanced flavour profile, clearly expressing the natural potential of its place of origin.
How it is produced
Production follows the Charmat Method, an ideal process to enhance the integrity of the fruit. Ageing is carefully divided: part of the wine matures in small barrels using the micro-oxygenation technique, while the remainder rests in stainless steel on fine lees. This technical approach ensures structural roundness and excellent olfactory clarity. The prise de mousse in autoclave finally gives a delicate perlage, balancing the natural savouriness with an enveloping sip that fades into a pleasant and lasting finish.

A true tribute to the Italian sparkling wine tradition, this wine reflects a deep commitment to sustainability and meticulous research into local yeasts. The Charmat method is enhanced by sophisticated ageing, divided between steel on fine lees and small barrels with micro-oxygenation. A careful process, overseen by oenologists Carlo Biasiotto and Fabio Men, which ensures absolute quality, awarded 87/100 by Robert Parker.
