Description
What kind of wine it is
Surfiner Cuvee Brut is a white sparkling wine created from a blend in which Chardonnay, Glera and Sauvignon express themselves in perfect harmony. Distinguished by a bright straw yellow colour, it offers the nose a delicate bouquet of yellow fruit and wildflowers, enriched by an intriguing hint of pepper. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, finishing with a pleasant and lingering aftertaste, ideal for expertly accompanying flavourful first courses and shellfish.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine is produced in Valdobbiadene, a Venetian area renowned for its viticulture. Production is entrusted to Foss Marai, a company dedicated to enhancing the unique characteristics of its homeland. The hillside soils give the grapes a defined organoleptic profile, which in the glass translates into a clear and linear style. The result is an authentic sip with marked drinkability, structured to offer a full and persistent experience, in complete respect of varietal balance.
How it is produced
The sparkling process follows the Charmat Method to preserve the fragrance of the primary aromas. Ageing aims for complexity: part of the wine matures in small barrels benefiting from micro-oxygenation, while the remainder rests in steel on fine lees. This meticulous process skilfully balances the lively acidity and moderate softness of the cuvée. To best enhance its aromatic and flavour qualities, it is recommended to serve at a temperature of 6-8 °C.
History and Curiosities
Born in Valdobbiadene in 1984 from the dedication of Foss Marai, the Surfiner Cuvée Brut is an extraordinary sparkling wine from Veneto. This refined cuvée of Chardonnay, Glera and Sauvignon comes to life through the Charmat method. Its harmony is the result of careful ageing: part rests in small barrels with micro-oxygenation, while the other matures in steel on the lees. In the majestic 3-litre Double Magnum format, it offers an enveloping experience, expressing the charm of a winemaking tradition that skilfully combines elegance and character.
