Description

What kind of wine it is

San Greg by Feudi di San Gregorio is a still rosé wine produced in Campania from Aglianico grapes. It stands out for its fresh and fruity aromatic profile, supported by an elegant structure that encourages easy drinking. Its remarkable versatility makes it ideal for accompanying starters, proving to be an excellent choice from aperitif through to dinner thanks to its consistent precision and aromatic clarity.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the hills of Irpinia in Campania, from vineyards situated up to seven hundred metres above sea level. The excellent sun exposure and constant ventilation give the wine freshness and definition. The soils, characterised by a marly-calcareous and marly-sandy matrix, provide balance and linearity. The vineyards are carefully selected to enhance the most suitable plots for producing this style of wine.

How it is produced

Following the manual harvest, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing, essential for extracting the noblest fraction of the must. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, between sixteen and eighteen degrees, preserving the integrity of the original fruity component. The process concludes with four months of ageing, also in steel, to maintain a clear and fragrant flavour profile.

History and Curiosities

Born among the hills of Irpinia, San Greg is an elegant tribute to the pink hour and the carefree spirit of the Italian aperitif. This refined rosé embodies the charm of the Dolce Vita, combining beauty and pure pleasure. Created by Feudi di San Gregorio in collaboration with renowned French consultant Valérie Lavigne, it stands out for its fresh style and exceptional drinkability. Its prestige is sealed by the Gold Medal awarded at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, establishing it as one of the leading wine excellences of the Campania region.

The Feudi di San Gregorio winery, was founded in 1986 in the town of Sorbo Serpico in the hills of Irpinia and today is one of the symbolic brands of the wine renaissance in southern Italy. The initial 30 hectares of vineyards in Sorbo Serpico have been joined by others in the municipalities of Taurasi, Tufo and Santa Paolina, bringing the total to over 300 hectares of vineyards today, which benefit from the immense properties of the volcanic soil and a climate characterised by significant temperature excursions that enrich the olfactory bouquet of Feudi San Gregorio wines. Feudi San Gregorio stands out for the production of wines such as: Taurasi, Greco di Tufo, Fiano, Falanghina and Rubrato, all from indigenous vines and made with respect for the terroir.
