Description

What kind of wine it is

Ferrari Perlè is a Brut sparkling wine produced according to the principles of the Traditional Method. An outstanding representative of Trentodoc, this Blanc de Blancs is made from Chardonnay grapes grown at high altitude. In the glass, it reveals a fresh and precise style, enhanced by a refined perlage and a dynamic flavour profile. The extended ageing imparts harmonious complexity, ensuring a savoury sip and a long aromatic persistence, making it ideal to accompany an entire meal.

Where it comes from

The roots of Ferrari Perlè lie in the mountainous landscape surrounding Trento. The region welcomes Chardonnay, cultivated in mountain vineyards with optimal soil and climate conditions. The altitude imparts notable flavour tension and great aromatic clarity. Ferrari's vision has created an expression capable of recalling the elegance of Champagne, while preserving its Alpine identity and offering a masterful balance between freshness and complexity.

How it is produced

Production begins with a manual harvest, continuing according to the rules of the Traditional Method. The wine rests for about five years on selected lees in the Ferrari cellars, developing a solid structure. The bouquet reveals clear notes of grapefruit, fresh pineapple and ginger root, fading into cumin and aromatic herbs. On the palate, the dry entry transforms into a pleasant roundness, offering a deep, elegant sip with a distinct Brut character.

History and Curiosities

The legend was born from Giulio Ferrari's dream of creating an Italian excellence inspired by the great Champagnes. Produced since 1971, Ferrari Perlé is a prestigious vintage Blanc de Blancs that encapsulates the essence of mountain Chardonnay. This style icon matures in the dark for around five years on the lees, developing a harmonious complexity. Its extraordinary elegance has won over international critics, collecting gold medals and top scores, such as the prestigious 94/100 awarded by Wine Advocate.

The legend of Ferrari began with a man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine in Italy inspired by the finest French Champagne.

A skilled and painstaking enologist who had studied at the prestigious School of Viticulture in Montpellier, Giulio created Ferrari in 1902, producing very few, extremely select bottles at a prohibitive price, but which were still never bought to satisfy the demand of wine lovers. In 1952 Bruno Lunelli, the owner of Trento’s best-known wine bar took over Ferrari from Giulio, who continued to work in the winery until his death. Then, thanks to meticulous labour in the winery and his innate entrepreneurial verve, Bruno Lunelli increased production until it reached a hundred thousand bottles a year. In the decades that followed, Bruno Lunelli’s sons, Gino, Franco and Mauro, brought the company, which produces exclusively Classic Method sparkling wines, to the apex of quality and fame - in other words, to the peak of excellence.

Today, as was the case in the past, the Lunelli family continues to be the lifeblood of the Ferrari brand. The third generation runs the company with respect for the past and clear ideas for the future.
Their goal is to preserve the prestige of the leading producer of the Classic Method sparkling wines in Italy and one of the top ten in the world. Whilst proudly maintaining the structure of a family-owned company, the Lunelli have conquered the market through business strategies that have made Ferrari into much more than just a successful brand. The company is a real international legend, producing the best of "Made in Italy".
