Description
What type of wine it is
Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Edoardo Valentini is a still white wine from the Abruzzo region that embodies the essence of the eponymous denomination, fermented in steel and aged in oak barrels. To the eye, it presents a straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose reveals a deep and layered aromatic range, where hints of citrus, chamomile and hazelnut blend with roasted notes and subtle sulphurous nuances. On the palate, the taste is graceful, supported by a defined structure that leads into an extremely long persistence and a savoury, continuous finish, ensuring extraordinary longevity over time.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Loreto Aprutino, in Abruzzo, from grapes grown on hills and plateaus located below five hundred metres in altitude. The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo vine variety thrives in a temperate climate, characterised by pleasant temperatures and low thermal fluctuations throughout the year. These environmental conditions, combined with well-drained and fertile soils, allow for optimal ripening of the clusters. These characteristics infuse the sip with a clear territorial imprint, defined by freshness, savouriness and gustatory precision.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with a rigorous manual harvest and a careful selection of the best clusters. This is followed by the crushing and destemming of the grapes, processed according to local oenological customs. After an initial fermentation in steel, the wine continues its maturation and malolactic fermentation within oak barrels. This slow rest in wood defines the structure and evolution of the wine, giving it complexity and preparing it to keep its peculiarities intact for many years.
History and Curiosities
Produced since 1956, Edoardo Valentini's Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC is an authentic emblem of Italian winemaking excellence. The grapes, hand-picked on the Abruzzo hills at an altitude of less than 500 metres, are carefully vinified in accordance with the most ancient traditional techniques. Thanks to maturation in oak barrels, the wine acquires extraordinary longevity, keeping its distinctive characteristics intact for decades. This award-winning masterpiece masterfully enhances the biochemical process of the land.
