Description
What kind of wine it is
Domaine A.F. Gros Moulin à Vent En Mortperay is a still red wine with a structured and elegant character, a pure expression of the Gamay grape variety. To the eye, it displays a ruby red colour enriched with garnet highlights. The aromatic bouquet is complex and harmonious, combining fruity nuances with elegant hints of iris, spices, and ripe fruit. On the palate, it opens with vibrant notes of violet and cherry, offering a precise and profound tasting experience. The decision to produce an unfiltered wine preserves its integrity, ensuring an authentic flavour profile true to the variety.
Where it comes from
This red wine originates in France, in the heart of the Beaujolais region, within the prestigious Moulin à Vent area. This territory is renowned for producing wines with great personality and remarkable ageing potential. The deep connection with the terroir allows the grapes to express a distinct regional character, safeguarding the product's identity. Over time, the wine reveals a constant aromatic evolution, offering mature nuances and tertiary aromas of extraordinary depth and consistency.
How it is produced
The winemaking process at Domaine A.F. Gros aims to respect the essence of the raw material, avoiding invasive interventions and opting for zero filtration. This technical choice maintains the wine's authenticity, which may develop a natural sediment over time. Prolonged ageing further enriches its profile: youthful aromas evolve into elegant notes of undergrowth and truffle, accompanied by hints of moss. To fully appreciate its complexity, it is recommended to decant for about an hour and serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C.

At 25 years old, Anne saw the family domaine grow from 3 to 6.5 ha. Recently, she invested in a new cellar. She is a winegrower suspicious of certitude and fastidious about maintaining her freedom.
As a female winegrower, Anne knew how to prove herself and convince all who doubted her ability to manage a domaine. She showed that she had not only the shoulders but the head to make her family heritage one of the greatest domaines of Burgundy.
In 1984 she had to stop studying Arts to study vines’culture and oenology in Beaune and Dijon. Now her passion for vine and wine as well as her talent, sensitivity and professionalism position her as a winemaker amateurs can rely on.
A mother of 3 children, Anne spends all her time working at the Domaine and taking care of her family. Read more
