Description
What kind of wine it is
Langhe Nebbiolo by Cascina Sot is a still red wine with Denomination of Controlled Origin that embodies the authenticity of Piedmont. Made from Nebbiolo grapes, vinified in steel and aged in wood, it stands out for its structured and elegant profile. It is the ideal companion for meat dishes and flavourful cheeses. To fully appreciate its aromatic bouquet, it is recommended to decant it for about an hour and serve at a temperature of 15-18 °C.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in vineyards located in Monforte d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. This prime territory offers the ideal conditions to enhance the natural qualities of Nebbiolo. The vines are cultivated using the Guyot espalier system.
How it is produced
Harvesting takes place between the second and third ten days of October. Vinification follows a classic style in steel tanks with floating cap for about ten days, with three pump-overs per day at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wood. Part of the batch is aged for six months in second-passage barrels before composing the final blend, which completes its journey with bottle ageing.
