Description
What type of wine it is
Soandre Verduzzo Passito by Bosco del Merlo is a dessert wine from the Lison Pramaggiore area. Made exclusively from Verduzzo grapes, it expresses a deep sensory profile, born from the combination of dried and over-ripened clusters. In the glass, it reveals an intense golden colour, opening with a bouquet of citrus notes and ripe tropical fruit. On the palate, it offers a refined sweetness, expertly balanced by a clear freshness that makes the sip smooth and balanced, confirming its status as an elegant meditation wine.
Where it comes from
It originates in the Lison Pramaggiore area, on the border with Friuli, in a territory with an excellent microclimate. The vineyards benefit from the mild influence of the Adriatic Sea and the cool breezes from the Alps, a vital combination for maintaining the acidity and aromatic clarity of the Verduzzo. The vines take root in clayey and calcareous soil, which gives the wine structure and a clean palate. Bosco del Merlo, whose name recalls the ancient local oak forests, pays constant attention to the vineyard, considered the true heart of the estate's qualitative expression.
How it is produced
The production of this vegan wine follows a careful double harvest. Part of the clusters are harvested early and placed in naturally ventilated rooms for drying, promoting sugar concentration. The remaining fruit undergoes a late harvest of over-ripening directly on the vine. The two batches ferment and mature separately in oak barrels for ten months. At the end of the ageing process, the batches are combined in a synergistic final blend, resulting in a passito with a complex and harmonious aromatic texture.
History and interesting facts
Founded in 1978 by the Paladin family in eastern Veneto, the Bosco del Merlo estate pays tribute to the ancient oak forests of Lison Pramaggiore. This elegant passito is inspired by the legend of Soandre, the mythical princess transformed into a stream for love, and reflects the winery's deep commitment to sustainability.

The Bosco del Merlo estate winery started up in 1977 in Annone Veneto, founded by siblings Carlo, Lucia and Roberto Paladin. Thanks to a profitable collaboration with the Istituto Sperimentale per la Viticoltura di Conegliano, a careful and modern zoning technique was immediately implemented in order to get the best out of the terroir, working the vineyard piece by piece. In the nineties, in the small town of Lison di Portogruaro, the cradle of viticulture in this wine-making region, a further 50 hectares of land was acquired, which therefore doubled capacity, increasing it to around 100 hectares in total.
Over the course of the years Bosco del Merlo has benefited from the advice of famous oenologists and experts from the Faculties of Oenology and Agriculture in Padua and Milan, such as Franco Bernabei and Leonardo Valenti, in its quest to find the most forward-thinking solutions for achieving optimal quality with the lowest environmental impact.
