Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne 1er Cru Extra Brut Le Cran by Bérèche is a refined sparkling wine made using the Traditional Method, harmoniously blending Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow hue, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is broad and floral, enriched with intriguing herbal notes and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it reveals a creamy and complex character, perfectly balanced by pronounced freshness and rich citrus notes that define its structure and depth.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the heart of the Champagne region, specifically in Le Craon de Ludes, France. Its Premier Cru status highlights the terroir of the commune of Ludes, historically renowned for producing high-quality grapes. The vines are rooted in a unique ecosystem situated between the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, giving the wine a distinct geographical identity. This specific origin imparts a structured profile to the sip, where the gustatory tension naturally integrates with aromatic richness.
How it is produced
Production strictly follows the principles of the Traditional Method, with a slow secondary fermentation that ensures an enveloping texture. The Extra Brut dosage guarantees a dry and vibrant expression, enhancing the intrinsic qualities of the grapes. Its natural tension gives way to a pleasant freshness, ideal for enhancing the flavours at the table. Thanks to its inherent creaminess, it pairs superbly with sushi and shellfish, and also complements fried fish dishes and the delicate textures of soft cheeses perfectly.

Every action has been adequately thought out. Of course our land is plowed and we also use weed control to limit disease. This vegetation cover avoids herbicides, insecticides and anti-rots. Everything begins with the soil. The fertilization is organic. We feed wildlife which in turn feeds flora and thus the soil is working. As a result the House Bérêche has one of the lowest treatment frequency index in the Champagne region. It is also among the first to be certified High Environmental Quality (level 3). Read more
