Description

What kind of wine it is

Valbona by Belisario is a still white wine that faithfully represents the essence of Verdicchio di Matelica. Made entirely from Verdicchio grapes, it displays a bright straw yellow colour with greenish highlights. The bouquet offers acacia and broom aromas, enriched by citrus notes, hints of honey, and a characteristic almond finish. On the palate, it stands out for its vibrant savouriness and refreshing acidity, which balance a harmonious, dry and persistent structure.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the Marche region, in the area of Matelica. The vineyards grow on loose soils with excellent southern exposure, situated at an altitude between 350 and 450 metres. This elevation favours a microclimate ideal for maintaining the natural freshness and aromatic intensity of the grape variety. The vines, cultivated using the double arched cane and Guyot systems, demonstrate Belisario's commitment to enhancing the Matelica territory through careful management of vegetative balance.

How it is produced

Production begins with gentle vacuum pressing and clarification of the musts by flotation. A reductive vinification process is used, employing carbonic snow to preserve the integrity of the aromas and prevent oxidation. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks for about twenty days. The process continues with maturation in stainless steel for four months, aimed at enhancing the varietal character, and concludes with one month of rest in glass before release to the market.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 1971 in the heart of the Marche region, Cantine Belisario celebrates the essence of the land through its Verdicchio di Matelica DOC. The Valbona label originates from vineyards facing south, situated between 350 and 450 metres above sea level, cultivated on loose soils. Expert vinification and maturation in steel enhance an intoxicating profile, rich in acacia and broom blossom aromas that blend with fresh citrus notes. Choose this glass to bring to the table a sip with vibrant savouriness, warmth, harmony, and magnificent structure.
