Description
What kind of wine it is
Barbaresco Angelo by Albino Rocca is a red wine from Piedmont, dedicated to the memory of the current owners' father. Made from Nebbiolo grapes, it stands out for its deep red colour and complex aromas that precede a rich, velvety and harmonious sip. This Barbaresco embodies a classic style, supported by a well-defined structure. It is perfect paired with red meats, game and mature cheeses. Decanting beforehand enhances its aromatic expression, ensuring a rewarding tasting experience.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in Piedmont, in the prestigious Barbaresco area. The Nebbiolo bunches come from selected vineyards located between Ronchi and Ovello, joined by grapes from the Montesino vineyard in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio. The optimal exposures, ranging from south-east to south-west, ensure excellent ripening of the fruit. The use of a blend of grapes from different plots allows for a full flavour profile, faithfully reflecting the territorial identity of the area.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with the harvesting of the bunches and subsequent submerged cap fermentation in oak vats. The long maceration on the skins allows for the extraction of colour and substances necessary to guarantee the wine’s longevity. The wine then matures for around twenty months in oak barrels, consolidating a solid and balanced character. The process concludes with bottle ageing for about nine months, essential for harmonising the bouquet and preserving the typical balance of Nebbiolo.

Thanks to the inheritance of some of our most precious vineyards in the 1960’s our grandfather was able to start what is now our winery Albino Rocca. Albino’s hard work and his strong support of our father Angelo Rocca laid the foundation that created a family winemaking tradition that has grown internationally over the years.
Our history has been built together, year by year. First through the gradual acquisition of vineyards and the production of not only Nebbiolo, but also Dolcetto and Barbera in addition to our continuous effort to evolve the quality of our Barbaresco – which starts in the vineyards and continues in the cellar.
