Description
What kind of wine is it
Pinot-Chevauchet Champagne Joyeuse Brut is a French sparkling wine made from a careful blend of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Crafted according to the strict Traditional Method, it appears in the glass with a straw yellow colour, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is delicate, with notes of orange blossom and fragrant hints of ripe pear. On the palate, it offers a soft and balanced sip, with a finish characterised by pleasant spicy and fruity nuances.
Where does it come from
This Champagne is produced in Moussy, near Épernay, by the Pinot-Chevauchet winery, an independent winemaker for four generations. The grapes come from Premier Cru classified plots located in the areas of Moussy and Pierry. The terroir is distinguished by chalky-clay soils with flint, a mineral composition that ensures a precise aromatic definition and an extremely clean and vibrant flavour profile.
How is it produced
Vinification follows the Traditional Method with ageing for at least four years on the lees and a further year of rest after disgorgement. This lengthy maturation process gives depth to the sip and a perfectly balanced Brut dosage. Served between 6 and 8 °C, it is ideal paired with fish and shellfish, but also goes excellently with refined starters and cheese selections.
History and Curiosities
For four generations, Pinot-Chevauchet has operated as an independent winemaker in Moussy. Using only estate-grown grapes cultivated in Premier Cru vineyards on flint-rich clay-limestone soils, the winery produces a refined Champagne AOC. The skilful blending of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay comes to life through the Traditional Method: thanks to a rigorous four-year maturation on the lees, followed by a further year of rest, the cuvée develops an elegant structure, offering a soft, balanced and unforgettable sip.
