Description

What kind of wine it is

Movia Lunar Rebula is an organic orange wine that expresses the pure character of Ribolla Gialla. This skin-contact wine reveals an intense amber colour and a youthful bouquet. On the nose, there are prominent fruity notes of pineapple and apple pie, combined with spicy hints, honey, caramel and savoury nuances. On the palate, it is dry and elegant, supported by vibrant freshness and clear minerality. A subtle trace of mature wood is perfectly integrated, offering a structured and persistent sip, ideal for enhancing dishes based on white fish and vegetarian recipes.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from Slovenia, in the Brda area. It is produced by Movia, a historic family estate active since the nineteenth century in the picturesque border region between Goriška Brda and Collio. This unique terroir, deeply linked to the cultivation of Ribolla Gialla, offers ideal soil and climate conditions for the vine. The synergy between the environment and the meticulous agricultural approach is reflected in a glass with a firm structure and a profound mineral texture, capable of authentically and vibrantly expressing the true vocation of the soil.

How it is produced

The process begins with a late manual harvest and rapid processing of the grapes to preserve their integrity. After destemming, the bunches ferment and macerate for about eight months in special French oak barrels. The winemaking follows a purely natural approach, excluding the use of chemicals and foregoing any filtration. Strictly respecting astronomical rhythms, the process concludes with gravity bottling, carried out exclusively during the full moon phases, to maintain the vitality of the must.

History and Curiosities

Produced on the historic Movia estate, this captivating natural wine enhances the pure essence of Ribolla Gialla. The Kristančič family oversees every detail: the grapes are destemmed by hand and processed swiftly to preserve their integrity. The extended maceration on the skins in French oak barrels imparts an elegant and complex structure, further enhanced by the absence of filtration. Following the cycles of nature, gravity bottling takes place during the full moon, offering an authentic experience in the generous one-litre format.
