The distillery, founded on the island of Lesbos, produces this Mastiha with passion and care. The name Mastic Tears evokes the uniqueness of this liqueur. Greek Distillation Company is a small private distillery founded by the Patrikopoulis brothers in 1995 on the island of Lesvos. Today the distillery produces one of the most famous brands of Mastiha: Mastic Tears. Under the name Mastic Tears the distillery produces two Mastihas: a Dry and a Classic. Mastiha is a classic Greek liqueur made from the resin of the Mastiha plant.
