History |
Vermentino is an aromatic vine probably originating from Portugal (where it is known by the name of "codega"), or from the island of Madeira, considering the numerous affinities (richness of color and extract) with the local Malvasia; from the Iberian peninsula it then spread to Liguria, Corsica, Sardinia and, to a lesser extent, also in some areas of Tuscany and France (Languedoc-Roussillon). |
