Conterno Fantino Barolo Sori Ginestra Magnum 2014
This Barolo comes from the famous cru of the same name in Monforte, a historic vineyard which is considered one of the finest for growing nebbiolo. The soil is formed of layers of sand and clayey marl with a high silt content, and is at an ideal altitude for nebbiolo, as well as lying in a perfect position facing due soith. Bud break comes very early on the Ginestra hill, an area where there is plenty of lught and the ground haets up rapidly. The properties of the soil, combined with its depth and good water retention, give the wine structure and a long life, as well as exceptional elegance and finesse. These qualities are further enhanced by constant production, which is also guaranteed in difficult vintages such as the 2002.
