History The Pineau D'Aunis has been linked with the Loire valley since ancient times, and testimonies of 1183 confirm us how this cluster was called Pineau because of its similarity to the pine branch, triangular and serrated. The origin of the term Aunis is still a controversy that sees two currents of thought; The first hypothesis comes from the name of a small feud belonging to the Aquitaine Duchy, the second from a convent located in the Saumur area.
