Description

What kind of wine it is

The Terlano Chardonnay Tradition from Cantina Terlano is a still white wine that fully expresses the character of the grape variety. When you pour Chardonnay into the glass, a varied bouquet emerges, where notes of ripe yellow fruit, such as quince, blend with exotic hints of mango. On the palate, it is dry, full and harmonious, supported by lively acidity and a slight salty note that adds volume. This balanced profile makes it an ideal companion for vegetable risottos and dishes based on robust fish.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the slopes of South Tyrol, in the Terlano area. The vineyards, located at altitudes between two hundred and fifty and nine hundred metres above sea level, benefit from a cool microclimate. The south and south-west exposure ensures optimal sunlight, while the porphyry-rich soils give the wine its distinctive mineral savouriness. In this context, Cantina Terlano has been operating since 1893, with a rigorous dedication to the longevity and integrity of the fruit.

How it is produced

The production process begins with a manual harvest, followed by gentle whole-bunch pressing. Clarification takes place through natural sedimentation, preparing the must for a slow fermentation at controlled temperature. Vinification is carried out by dividing the mass between stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels, encouraging the development of aromatic complexity. Ageing continues in contact with the fine lees, enriching the final structure and ensuring a pleasant and prolonged smoothness.

History and Curiosities

The Terlano Chardonnay Tradition 2025 embodies the excellence of Cantina Terlano, a historic establishment in Alto Adige founded in 1893 and always dedicated to superior quality. Vinified exclusively from hand-picked grapes grown on porphyry slopes, this wine combines lively freshness with intense aromas of tropical fruit, quince and toasted hazelnut. The slow ageing on the lees gives the palate volume, harmony and an enticing mineral savouriness. Already highly acclaimed by critics, it is perfect for elegantly accompanying creamy risottos and dishes based on robust fish.
