Description
What kind of wine it is
Bahar Zibibbo by Tenute Orestiadi is a still white wine that enhances Zibibbo through a dry white vinification. To the eye, it displays an intense yellow colour with bright greenish highlights. On the nose, it stands out for its fruity and floral aromas, with clear notes of citrus, peach and yellow melon. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and elegant structure, enriched by a pleasant savouriness that leads to a harmonious and persistent finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Sicily, in the Belìce Valley, in the area of Gibellina. The vineyards are situated between two hundred and four hundred and fifty metres above sea level, benefitting from a dry microclimate. The vines sink their roots into white hillside soils rich in limestone and gypsum. The particular composition of the soil retains the necessary moisture during the hottest months, giving the sip a marked minerality and a taut, well-defined style.
How it is produced
Production begins at the end of August with a manual harvest aimed at selecting the best bunches. The grapes are handled with care to preserve maximum aromatic integrity. Ageing involves a three-month rest in steel tanks, the material of choice for maintaining the fruit's freshness. The evolutionary process concludes with a further rest of four months, a fundamental step in achieving overall balance.
