Description
Organic still white wine from Sicily, 12.5% ABV, produced by Zisola (Mazzei). A Grillo from southeastern Sicily, just a stone's throw from Noto, the birthplace of Nero d'Avola. The grapes come from vineyards that extend around the estate's three "bagli" (farmhouses). Hand-harvested from August 23rd (Grillo) to September 13th (Catarratto). Low-temperature fermentation (15°C). Enchants with sunny notes of bergamot and orange blossom, thyme, lily, and hints of minerality. A shimmering straw-yellow color with golden highlights. The palate beautifully translates the aromas from the nose, reinforcing them with a proud freshness and worthy savory character.

A property of 50 hectares, the area extends around the 3 buildings "bagli" of the estate, of which the main one enjoys a wonderful view over Noto and the surrounding "gardens" cultivated with vineyards, citrus trees, olives, and almonds. Here a small but efficient winery is provided with stainless steel vats with temperature control for winemaking and about 350 oak barrels for fining the wines. Read more
