Description
What kind of wine it is
Erste+Neue Riesling is a still, semi-aromatic white wine that faithfully reflects the character of Alto Adige. Made from Riesling grapes, it stands out for its dry and elegant style, characterised by a fresh and juicy profile. On the nose and palate, it offers clear aromas where notes of peach and apricot emerge, accompanied by lively hints of lemon and lime. The pleasant mineral vein blends with the structure, delivering a balanced sip and a long and persistent finish, capable of maintaining great aromatic precision.
Where it comes from
This white originates in Caldaro, within the mountainous wine-growing context of Alto Adige. The vines grow at an altitude of 500–600 metres, where the alpine conditions favour ideal ripening and a slender profile. The roots sink into limestone soils, which give the glass a distinct gustatory tension and typical mineral nuances. Controlled yields in the vineyard ensure high-quality grapes, confirming the commitment to a solid winemaking project deeply connected to the territory.
How it is produced
The Erste+Neue winery enhances the grape variety’s vocation through temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks. This is followed by four months of ageing on fine lees, which adds structure without compromising drinkability. The exclusion of malolactic fermentation preserves the acidity and vibrant citrus definition of the wine. The processes strictly follow sustainable viticulture practices, certified by the FAIR’N GREEN standard for environmental protection.
History and Curiosities
Born in Caldaro, this captivating Riesling expresses the perfect harmony between centuries-old tradition and the modern Alpine vision of Erste+Neue. Cultivated in vineyards at 500-600 metres above sea level, on particularly suitable calcareous soils, it ensures excellent grape quality. Through delicate vinification in steel and four months of ageing on fine lees, the winery preserves the vibrant freshness of the fruit. The commitment to the environment is demonstrated by the FAIR’N GREEN certification, a guarantee of deeply sustainable production.
