Description

What type of wine it is

Ciro 906 by Ciro Picariello is an exceptionally elegant white wine from Campania, made from Fiano grapes. This label masterfully interprets the identity of the Fiano di Avellino area, combining gustatory tension and aromatic depth. In the glass, it displays a straw-yellow hue, introducing a persistent and intense bouquet. On the nose, hints of white flowers emerge initially, followed by fascinating toasted and hydrocarbon notes. On the palate, it proves to be snappy and dynamic, with a marked acidity that blends harmoniously into a solid structure and a finish of excellent persistence.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the vineyards of Summonte, a prime area located in the heart of Irpinia. The vines, situated at an altitude of approximately 650 metres with north-east exposure, enjoy an ideal microclimate for the slow and steady ripening of the clusters. The roots draw nourishment from rocky-clay soils, which are responsible for the wine's distinct mineral imprint. The altitude preserves the natural freshness of the grape variety, while the soil's composition outlines the taut and defined character of the sip, enhancing the extraordinary territorial vocation of this area.

How it is produced

Production begins with a careful harvest between mid and late October. In the cellar, the must undergoes preliminary cooling for twenty-four hours, followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation lasting sixty days, ensuring extreme aromatic purity. To enhance the fragrance of the fruit, no wood is used; in fact, ageing takes place for twelve months in stainless steel tanks, with repeated bâtonnage to enrich the body and organoleptic complexity. The production cycle concludes with a further period of bottle ageing lasting six months.

History and interesting facts

The production of this wine stems from the deep passion of a family that has been dedicated to creating high-quality wines in Summonte, in the province of Avellino, since 2004. Among the interesting facts regarding the Fiano di Avellino ‘Ciro 906’, the 20-year-old vines stand out, cultivated at an altitude of 650 metres. Furthermore, the elegant design of the bottle is distinguished by a minimalist white label embellished with a linear drawing of a building.
