The vine Rebo is named after Rebo Rigotti (1891-1971), a researcher at the Experimental Station of San Michele all'Adige (TN), which made this intersection around 1920 with the intention of finding a substitute for Merlot from Use in less-favored areas. The Rebo grape is cataloged as Crossing Rigotti 107-3 (Merlot x Teroldego). A grape has been obtained that gives the wines from the fragrance of the Marzemino autochthon but supported by the structure of the Merlot. The Rebo has been found not only in Trentino, but the only DOC that recognizes it is Trentino DOC. The main cultivation areas include the municipalities of San Michele all'Adige, Volano, Calavino, Cavedine and Padergnone, in the valley of the Lakes, the birthplace of Rebo Rigotti. |

The Rebo vine gives a ruby red wine with garnet reflections. The nose is fruity with scents of undergrowth and more. On the palate it is warm, just tannic, of body. |
