Still manni nossing wines

Manni Nössing, an idealistic and stubborn winegrower, grew up in a family that owned a farm called 'Hoandlhof'. Situated on a hill that magnificently overlooks the city of Brixen, it originally subsisted on cattle breeding. This is its history. In 1999, the vineyard was planted. Although wine cooperatives and large wine cellars had a long tradition in the Eisack Valley, Manni Nössing decided to vinify his grapes independently, aiming from the outset to bring out the origin and character in his bottles, as well as an independent style and a distinct identity. He was soon nicknamed 'the rebel'. In 2003, he launched his first Kerner onto the market, which immediately won the Tre Bicchieri award from the leading Italian wine guide. Since then, the success has never stopped. On an area of six hectares, he now produces Sylvaner, Riesling, Veltliner, Müller Thurgau and an excellent Kerner, which for years has earned him the nickname 'Mr Kerner' in Italy and abroad. The Hoandlhof's tasting room regularly hosts winegrowers, experts and enthusiasts, who meet there to discuss wines. From this point of view, Nössing can no longer be regarded as a rebel, but as one of the driving forces of the Eisack Valley, based on his motto 'This is how wine culture is created'. What is needed is a process of knowledge, which can only become a reality thanks to far-sighted and determined people like Manni Nössing, and requires the delineation of a long-neglected identity.
