History Schloss Johannisberg in the Rheingau is a Landmark and meeting point of culture and winegrowing. A top-ranking 35 ha single vineyard wine estate and a monument to the history of wine. Schloss Johannisberg is the oldest Riesling-Estate of the world (100% Riesling since 1720).
Origin The totally south-facing vineyard is steep as 45° and climbs from 114 m to 181 m above sea level. The forest on top of the Taunus protects the vineyards from cold winds from the North and in the South the Rhine lays like a lake in front of the estate on the foothills.
Soil composition Unique soil formation with Taunusquartz topped with loam and rich loss is perfect for mineralic Rieslings keeps water and temperature very well.
Vinification Fermentation - 100% stainless tank. Rest on lees - 5 mounts.
Total acidity 7.70 gr/L
Residual sugars 15.00 gr/L
