Origin	Grave in Chianti (Florence).
Soil composition	The soil found in Greve at an altitude of 325 m is composed of disintegrated turbidite sandstone and marly schist with claylike features. Slate and sandstone are most prevalent in the hilltop area at 450 meters, where the soil is loose and conducive to drainage, as is also the case with the Radda vineyards. Rocky, calcium carbonate-rich soils characterize the Gaiole vineyards.
Yield per hectare	35 hl/hectare.
Harvest	By hand, between the 9th and 30th of September with crates.
Vinification	Fermentation is carried out in 3-ton French oak casks.
Ageing	After malolactic fermentation, élevage is carried out in French barriques for 16-20 months, of which 20% are new. Chianti Classico Riserva Querciabella is a vegan wine that does not include any products of animal origin in the vinification process.
