The slope is not particularly steep and the soils contain lots of stones and gravel; Bel Air: a small vine plot overlooking Chambertin Clos de Bèze, the slope is quite steep and its soil has a high content of limestone.
Cultivation system Single Guyot.
Harvest Hand-picked, placed in small plastic crates.
Production technique Mechanical ploughing, neither fertilizers nor chemical weed killers are used, only organic soilenrichers.
Vinification Stringent sorting of the grape bunches, partly destemmed, alcoholic fermentation using only natural yeasts, pumpingover and cap-punching are carefully controlled.
Ageing 18 months in oak barrels: 50% in new barrels, 50% in 1-wine barrels.
