Casale del Giglio Merlot 2022

Merlot is originally from Bordeaux. It was introduced in the Pontine Marshes in the thirties by the Venetians settlers drained the Pontine Marshes, and in 1966 he was recognized as Denomination of Controlled Origin. Never properly valued in the past, it was, however, later, thanks to the research project and "Casale del Giglio experimentation", initiated in 1985, which has allowed us to identify, for this variety, the most suitable combination of rootstocks, clones and form of breeding, in order to obtain high quality grapes.
