||The quality of the wines coming from the Island of Giglio was known since the time of the Ancient Romans, who called it "the Green Island" as it was completely covered with vineyards, who came to take the precious Giglio wine with their ships to serve it court of the emperors. The island is completely terraced with ancient terraces that date back to prehistoric times. These terraces are one meter and one and a half meters high, and enjoy a uniqueness that makes them unmistakable: it is incredible to think that all this has been done by hand, they are real monuments to the effort and ingenuity of man.
