Areas of cultivation It is spread mainly in the province of Foggia, in the area of ​​San Severo, but also in other Apulia provinces such as Bari, and in other Adriatic regions of central Italy, where it is often confused with other varieties.
History The origins are uncertain but may come from the eastern basin of the meditteranean, like the trebbiani in general, though there are those who think to come from Spain.
Ampelographic features Leaf: of medium size, quinquelobata and even trilobata, pentagonaIe; Petiole breast in lira, closed, sometimes with joined edges and even superimposed, on average deep; Lateral breasts upper U open and sometimes closed, very deep; U lateral lateral breasts, open, shallow, and even missing. Top of green-loading, matt, glabra. Bottom: light green, fleace. Corrugated flap, with very bulky surface, revolving or wavy lobes, angles at right or sharp edges. The main ribs on the bottom side of green, often partially red-vinous at the base, fleaceous. Regular denture, in 1, 2 or 3 series, with medium or large teeth, straight or convex margins, based on medium width.
