Not too far off, the goal is one hundred hectares of vines. Divided into two bodies, Ferruccio Deiana's winery has its production centre at Su Leunaxi, in the Settimo San Pietro countryside, in Sardinia, where the first vines were planted in the nineties, and the winery was built, later recently expanded and modernised. After that, the company grew and, after some time, planted new vineyards in the area of Sibiola, in the countryside of Serdiana, a stone's throw from the main body.
'Quality wine is born in the vineyard,' Ferruccio Deiana always reminds us. Particular care was taken in working the land, and the varieties to be planted were chosen with great care. The grape varieties were therefore selected, considering the soil characteristics of the different soils in which they would be planted. The particular micro-climatic conditions and the exposure of the land, slightly undulating the landscape of this small corner of Sardinia, recommended a planting layout of 2.30 by 1.00 and a Guyot and spurred cordon training system. All the vines are irrigated with fixed drip irrigation systems. Numerous olive trees have been planted along the estate's internal roads to respect the Sardinian tradition.
The exceptionally modern wine cellar allows the harvested grapes to be vinified using the most advanced methods when their ripeness is optimal. All fermentation, maturation and refinement processes are monitored carefully, including systematic analyses in the company's well-equipped laboratory. Ferruccio Deiana's wife Mariagrazia Perra and his son Dario collaborate with Ferruccio Deiana with outstanding commitment and considerable personal skills.
