Description

What type of wine is it

Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico is an elegant red wine from Tuscany produced by Frescobaldi. Made from Sangiovese grapes and complementary varieties, this Chianti Classico is distinguished by an intense and complex aromatic profile. On the nose, it offers fruity hints of blackberry and cherry, enriched by balsamic notes of eucalyptus and spicy nuances of pink pepper. On the palate, the defined tannic structure provides freshness and richness, closing with a persistent and spicy finish, after ageing in barrels and stainless steel.

Where it comes from

This Chianti Classico comes from the vineyards of Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena. The vines grow at 500 metres above sea level, on steep slopes arranged in a natural amphitheatre. The south and south-west exposure and the stony soils ensure excellent solar radiation, essential for the late ripening of the Sangiovese. The hilly microclimate, characterised by warm days and cool nights, promotes the expression of an intense aromatic quality and a solid structure.

How it is produced

The production of Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico involves a manual harvest followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The controlled maceration with pump-overs allows for optimal polyphenolic extraction. The wine is aged for 24 months, split between wooden barrels and stainless steel, allowing for a harmonious development of tertiary aromas. A further period of bottle ageing completes the process before it is released for sale.
