Description

Etna Bianco A' Puddara is a wine from the Sicilian island, produced on the slopes of Mount Etna, in a unique, sun-kissed environment. The lava soil, rich in trace elements such as iron, potassium, magnesium, and manganese, is the basis for the production of unique grapes and the creation of fresh wines, such as Etna Bianco A' Puddara DOC. It is precisely wines like Etna Bianco A' Puddara that have led Tenuta di Fessina to obtain important and prestigious national and international awards. Etna Bianco A' Puddara is a 100% Carricante wine, the fruit of careful human labor, never invasive and respectful of traditional cultivation methods. Etna Bianco, produced on the southern slope of Mount Etna, near the Catania area, between Biancavilla and Santa Maria di Licodia, is fermented in large barrels. The grapes, in limited bunches, are grown at approximately 900 meters above sea level, in a typically mountain climate: snowfall in winter, mild springs, and scorching, dry summers. The significant temperature variations between night and day contribute to the production of particular grapes, which also benefit from a marked salinity. The Etna Bianco A' Puddara is vinified by pressing and trained using the bush vine system, as required by Mediterranean tradition. The soil is particularly sandy and enriched with volcanic ash. This wine is distinguished by its intense aroma and a slight smoky note. Etna Bianco A' Puddara is thus a fascinating and complex wine, capable of encapsulating all the Sicilian atmosphere and the magnificence of the Etna volcano.

From the beginning, Tentua di Fessina’s desire was to create "a place of beauty, between earth and spirit", rather than a cellar in the strict sense in which people, skills and energies could converge and in turn merge to enrich the intangible heritage of the Estate, made up of professional and human relationships, exchanges and ideas around the culture of wine and good living.

The project took shape in 2007 when the Tuscan producer Silvia and her husband Roberto purchased an old Nerello Mascalese vineyard dating back to the last century.
