Description
Still red Etna DOC, produced by Tenuta Benedetta in Sicily, 2016 vintage. Blend: 80% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappuccio. 0.75 l bottle. An Etna Rosso born from the passion of Daniele and Laura Noli, who wanted to create wines that respect the identity of this exceptional territory. The grapes are harvested by hand in October. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in truncated cone-shaped French oak vats. The wine ages for approximately 13 months in second-use 500-liter French oak tonneaux. Aged in bottle for at least 12 months. It opens with notes of ash, lava, and salty hints, then shifts towards sensations of ripe blackberries and blueberries, violets, licorice, and graphite, with balsamic hints in the background. Ruby red with purple hues. The sip is engaging and elegant, with a precise and calibrated tannin, a long persistence marked by pleasant returns of graphite, licorice and fruity sensations.
