Description

For Sallier de La Tour the Syrah grape represents a key variety, for its development potential in this terroir. The Sicilian expression of a variety with unknown origins found a way to thrive in this area. A slow and complete ripening enhances the typical notes of this vineyard, resulting in a ruby red wine with purple shades, an intense and fruited aroma and hints of small blackberries and spices.

The Sallier de la Tour is located in the Monreale DOC area, in the Jato valley, in an area with a vocation for wine-growing that has been able to make the most of this land's natural propensity for Syrah. The landscape, 77 hectares of which 38 are planted with vines, is also punctuated by olive groves and fruit trees all around the 'La Monaca' wine cellar, an Art Nouveau touch in the middle of the countryside.

A family estate, belonging to the Sallier de La Tour cousins, which has been lovingly cared for for generations and which in 2009 joined the Regaleali, Capofaro, Tascante and Whitaker estates, the Tasca d'Almerita world. Following a project of enhancing the terroir, the company combines experience and experimentation, authenticity and passion every day, cultivating together with Syrah the indigenous varieties: Grillo, Inzolia and Nero d'Avola. Today, this project speaks to wine enthusiasts, attracted by the urban countryside.
